Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I inner-city public school in California. My class consists of Latino and Asian English language learners who hold a high potential for academic success. Each and every day is a great adventure with my students. They make no excuses to work hard and learn no matter how challenging things may be.
My first graders are highly encouraged to be respectful, responsible, and scholarly as they prepare to be college bound.
Our school community values every student and we do our best to prepare them for their future. We want them to know that they are part of a great learning community that will encourage and support them to dream big.
My Project
It’s unbelievable how something so microscopic has caused the world to turn inside out. We are living difficult times and our school children are experiencing a shift in how they go about their day and their learning. Students miss their daily routines, classroom, teacher, and classmates.
My goal is to keep my students engaged and motivated as much as possible during distant learning.
I am currently communicating with my students via Zoom (video conference) and the AirPods I am requesting would greatly help with the background noise when I’m holding video chats with my students and teaching. I am also requesting a tabletop easel, dry erase markers and Post-it chart paper to assist me while I deliver video lessons from home.
Thank you for taking the time to read our project and possibly donating to it. We wish you and your family safe quarantine during this difficult time.
