Help me give my students snap bots, snap dinos, monster trucks, wild animals, zoobs and playsticks to keep their distant learning ready and on fire.

I have amazing students. I say have because they are still mine. They are my kinder babies and it will be hard to let them go. While I still have them, I plan to continue teaching them, preparing them for their next grade, providing them the chance to become ready for their next teacher.
I didn't get the chance to say goodbye.
They were the best class ever. The hugs, smiles, laughs, responses, even the arguments are missed. They were already reading and ready to finish conquering the skill of how to add and subtract. We were working as a team on how to share and get along. One of the kindergarten skills that we were just beginning to really delve into was STEM. We had developed a team that could really take directions and take us along on a wild ride of discovery and adventure. These materials will allow the adventures to continue.
Distant Learning does not have to be dull. Learning can occur outside of the classroom and it can be fun and forthcoming.
I can still hear the laughs, see the smiles, see them working, see the frustration when skills got hard, and the awe of the surprise when concepts were mastered!
It was wonderful! We must keep this inspiration going!
Let's provide an opportunity of learning that involves fun thru STEM. Zoobs, snapbots, playstix, engineer kits, wild animals, monster trucks and snapdinos will be just what the doctor ordered. My students will incorporate STEM through the escapades of fairy tales and nursery rhymes. They will be learning and accomplishing tasks that are fun to them, but also educational. The Zoobs, engineer kits, snapbots and wild animals will be used to create a tower that Rapunzel could escape from as her knight in shining armor encircles the tower awaiting her departure, along with snapbots that are standing guard. They will have to use the wild animals to mix match an animal that is make believe that her knight could supposedly rescue her with. But remember the goal is to build a tower that she can escape from.
Incorporating a different literary character, using the dinosaurs and monster trucks snap builds, students will have to listen to me read the story Danny and the Dinosaur and then create a model of Danny choosing to either ride a dinosaur thru the city or a monster truck. They will have to illustrate Danny's adventure and then share on Zoom. Let the imaginations begin. Isn't this what a kindergartener should be doing while distantly learning?
Let's keep them learning, but provide some time to keep the learning FUN!
