My students have been away from school since March 16. When we said goodbye on March 13, we had no idea that we would not see each other until....
Most of my students have been watching videos I post daily, and are trying their best to finish first grade strong!
Like my fellow educators around the country, I am doing my best to teach and connect with my students.
My first graders LOVE story time; it is an opportunity for them to simply be a normal six-year old and enjoy a story.
I had minimal time to gather materials to begin teaching from home. I have not been able to return to my classroom since March 16. While I did grab some books, I did not take as many as are needed for the amount of time we have been (and will be) out.
My students look forward to my daily read alouds. Some families use these stories as part of their bedtime routine. One afternoon I was running behind and did not post our read aloud at the normal time. I started receiving messages asking if there was going to be a story that night!! The stories are important to my students and their families.
I will be extremely appreciative to have new books and stories to share with my students!! Thank you for your support.
