My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a third grade class at a public school located in a small town in northern Minnesota. We have a large percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. The high level of poverty in our community results in many students facing hardships outside of school.
Regardless of background, my students have a desire to learn!
My students are all different and they deserve to learn in a way that works for them. It would be great to provide them with the best opportunity to learn while in the classroom.
My Project
In this new world of COVID and so many unknowns about the school year ahead, I am trying my best to make sure that my students have the best chance of having a successful year. This project is to give every student a place they can put their items as they transition back and forth between distance learning and hybrid learning. It is an area that can be easily sanitized to limit the spread of germs. I have also included sanitizing wipes, tissues and little bottles of lotion to help keep everyone healthy.
Kids are resilient and I know they will do their best regardless of where they are.
I am also asking for computer mice, mouse pads, and cushions for those who may need special accommodations either in the classroom or at home to help with their learning as we embark on this new year.
