This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a second grade teacher in a low-income school, my goal is that all students come to school feeling safe, supported, and eager to learn. I am looking to give my students meaningful, creative, and unique learning experiences.
My students are enthusiastic, adventurous, and brave.
Despite the many challenges each of our students face, they come to school eager to learn, ready to be challenged, and full of thoughtful questions. Each student deserves a chance to express themselves and be successful in their own way.
My students have the drive to learn, they just need the tools to make it possible.
My Project
Distance learning has thrown many teachers for a loop. As we move into distance learning I am looking to get a document camera to better assist students in direct instruction. My hope is that the document camera will make it easier for students to learn at home. The document camera will help students see how to properly use the manipulatives in math, and it will also be used to help students work alongside the teacher to complete workbook assignments. I will be able to show students how to do a specific problem in math and they will be able to emulate.
Students deserve access to quality education, even while they are at home.
Give my students a fighting chance; younger students work best by having direct instruction they can follow. If I can use a document camera to assist them during direct instruction, they will better understand how to learn different concepts.
