Help me give my students art, STEAM and writing supplies for distance learning. Tweezers, tongs and eye droppers are great for science and developing fine motor skills needed for writing.
My students are 3 to 5 years old. All of my students have qualified for and are receiving special education services. Their special education needs include speech/language services, pre-academics, behavior intervention, and social skills instruction. We do all of this through play.
Just like all preschoolers, my students learn by playing, getting messy, being noisy and having fun.
The skills we focus on in preschool are the foundation for students' success in the future. It's amazing to realize that the playing we do in preschool sets the stage for so much more in my students' lives.
My Project
The tweezers, tongs and eye droppers are critical tools for science exploration. They also help to build the foundational fine motor skills preschoolers need to write and cut with scissors.
The dry erase crayons will be a tool to help students practice their pre-writing skills, writing their names and expressing their creativity.
The watercolor paints will be used in both teacher led activities and for students to work independently and encourage their creativity. It is crucial that even in this setting we encourage students' exploration and creativity so that we continue to develop lifelong learners.
