Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All of my students have a diagnosis of autism and speech and language impairment. The majority of my students are nonverbal and cannot express their wants and needs. We are able to tell by their moods and reactions to things when they are happy, sad, or mad.
A lot of my students are sensory driven and seek different ways of learning through movement, sounds, touch, etc.
Each and every student learns in their own individual way, which is amazing to see. Their growth in the classroom is what brightens our day. Even though they cannot verbally talk, they are still able to say so much.
My Project
Since we are not in school right now and all of my students are learning virtually, they need hands on materials made for them that they have had access in the past.
We are going through supplies so fast creating items in the home we are already needing more items.
The items listed provide ink to be able to print copies for all students. Using card stock to make it durable and then laminating the cardstock to make the materials last. We also use velcro to be able to provide hands on file folders and supplies for the students.
