Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse bunch of resilient kiddos who love learning. We are a Title One school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. School was a place where my students’ could seek comfort, happiness, and where they felt a sense of belonging.

Distance Learning has brought on many new challenges for my students.

Although my district has been able to checkout laptops and provide meal services for them, they need basic supplies and materials that will help with engagement. They miss the classroom and I'm trying to find ways to make this fun and bring them joy any way I can.

My Project

Distance learning is a struggle for many of my students. They miss the fun and engaging lessons I would create in the classroom and I miss my students! All of their learning is now on the computer which is not ideal for 9 and 10 year olds. I would like to supply them with some fun and engaging hands-on activities they can do during DIstance Learning and even over the summer.

Their Distance Learning kit will include school supplies, fun activities, reading materials, and even some snacks.

These resources will surely brighten their days and bring life to their distance learning experience.
