Help me give my students healthy snacks during this time of Distance Learning. Many of our students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. The food packs will really help out families at this time.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach six classes filled with amazing students. They are hardworking, creative, and very enthusiastic students.
The school is a Title I school and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students are primarily African-American. Many come from low-income families with the mother as the primary caregiver. They lack many things needed to be successful in school but this does not stop my students. They are highly motivated and come to school ready to learn each day.
My Project
Many of my students come from homes where food can be scarce at times. The snacks can really make a difference during this time of distance learning when students are forced to be at home all day.
I have asked for healthy snacks that can be sent to students who are in need.
This will ensure they are getting food each day. I have picked a variety of snacks that I believe the students will enjoy. Students can't learn when they are hungry, and these snacks will go a long way in helping to ensure this does not happen.
