Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students have a high level of curiosity, and their energy is abundant. These children are from diverse backgrounds and households, and many have unique needs and challenges to overcome. We have a high population of students who are at-risk socially, emotionally, and academically. My 100% virtual classroom is an inclusion model. Several children have an individual educational plan. In spite of challenges, there is also a high desire to be cooperative, respectful, and successful students.

My students' potential is limitless, and I see future engineers, computer scientists, chefs, and teachers.

These young scholars have awesome determination. The academic growth that many are experiencing is remarkable because they have the ability and desire to acquire and apply the ​skills necessary to be successful.

My Project

My school is a PBIS or Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support campus. Positive behavior, active engagement, and good work habits are implicitly taught, demonstrated, and rewarded. Teaching through distance learning or my Zoom Room provides opportunities to give feedback and praise. I would like to provide my students with a tangible reward in the form of Amazon gift cards.

To incentivize and reward PBIS behaviors, I would love to celebrate and cheer on my students that meet their daily goals in reading and math engagement through December with an Amazon gift card.

This project will motivate my students to engage daily in our distance learning environment.
