Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to our room! "May I have a pass to go to the library to access the Google program for our history project?" a student asks. This is a constant occurrence in my classroom. Students want to apply the knowledge learned but waste and miss class time due to technological and other material deficits.
Many of my students come from households with both parents working numerous jobs.
Our school has over 80% free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast.
With this though, students strive to better themselves both academically and as individuals. Through their interactions with others at school and their studies, they are gaining the background knowledge and new concepts to be productive members of society. Maintaining their buy-in and interest in school is vital to ensure their success in making good choices for themselves and their future.
My Project
Thank you for considering to donate in this unique time in education and history for our nation. Currently, my school district has moved to an online classroom model, closing the school building to limit Coronavirus and practice social distancing.
I wanted to make my distance learning lessons more dynamic than just a worksheet.
I have started to create videos for the upcoming units of World War II and the Space Race/NASA. In order to successfully complete these videos, I need some supplies to effectively conduct these lessons. Thank you for your support and helping me engage and maintain my students' motivation to finish the school year strong. I look forward to sharing pictures and success stories with you as we undertake this project.
