Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic learners who enjoy learning new things every day. They are curious and ask lots of questions because they want to learn more. They see school as a fun place where they can be challenged. My students are intelligent and need engaging activities that will unlock their full potential.
Our neighborhood is under-served and infested with gangs and violence.
This does not hold students back from maximizing their full potential. Kids see our school as a safe haven.
My Project
Remote learning can be challenging for many students and I would like to motivate and encourage all students to continue trying their best to learn online everyday.
I would like to set up a Positive Behavior Intervention Support Rewards System.
Students will be able to earn points by coming to virtual class on time, completing homework, and participating. At the end of every month, I will allow students to redeem their earnings. Students will be allowed to shop in our virtual store and use their points to purchase items from Amazon with their Amazon gift cards.
My goal is to reward students for being outstanding distance learners and to also encourage all students to try their best and earn points every day in hopes of getting as many points possible to purchase items from Amazon with our classroom Amazon gift cards. Students will have to set personal goals and and I will keep a classroom tally of all students' point totals. Parents will also be able to view their child's point total from our parent communication platform app.
