Help me give my students the best education possible during this unique school year by helping me purchase a laptop. This technology will allow me to have classroom meetings and make digital lessons tailored to my students.
While we are learning from home because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Microsoft Surface computer would allow me to meet with my class, meet with small groups, create better digital lessons, and provide quality learning experiences. The future of education is still unknown so I would be able to continue using this technology to continue to provide quality digital learning opportunities in the coming school years as well.
My Project
This Microsoft Surface laptop will enable me to provide the best digital learning environment for my students this year and in the future. My current laptop provided by the school is over 6 years old. It doesn't have a camera which makes it impossible to have video lessons and live meetings and teaching sessions without extra technology. My district uses Microsoft products, so this laptop would enable me to do everything I need to do to reach my students while we are all learning from home. The tablet would enable me to screencast lessons as if I was using a whiteboard at school.
My students need the familiarity of their classroom family during this unique and difficult time.
I want to be able to provide my class all of the opportunities we would normally would have if we were still in our classroom. Learning from home is definitely not the same situation, so this laptop and stylus would enable me to recreate some of the same experiences we have during the regular school day, including meeting with small learning groups, individually helping students with their learning, providing engaging lessons using our district provided technology resources. With the unknown future of school in the fall, I would be able to use this technology throughout the summer to create content to help students transition back to the classroom or continue digital distance learning in the fall and beyond.
