My students are between the ages of two and three and have many different disabilities and needs such as autism, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, blindness, and emotional and physical challenges.
I also have a few students that are typically developing that serve as peer models for language and socialization.
Since we are distance learning, the only social interaction my students get with each other is via Zoom a few times a week.
My students come from culturally diverse families and many have socio-economic challenges, as well. My school is a Title I school and we have a large population of children with special needs and English Language Learners.
My students rely heavily on a routine and a predictable day. The current situation has been very difficult for my students and their families. I have been making visual supports, behavioral systems, adapted books, and other materials for my students to use at home.
My Project
As a special needs preschool teacher, I have been busy printing, cutting, laminating, and re-cutting out visual supports, visual schedules, behavioral supports, and materials for my students. My students need access to visual supports to help in the understanding of language and they need pictures to communicate. My students rely heavily on their visual schedules to help them know what their day looks like and what will be happening when.
I need more ink, paper, velcro, and laminating sheets to make these materials for my students.
I can really use the binders and dividers to organize the materials that I am making until I am able to drop them off (from a safe distance) to my students.
Please help me give my students these basic materials to help them get through their days.
