Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Moderate to severe classrooms are filled with such a diverse and exciting group of students. Mine are a prime example of diversity and excitement.
My students unfortunately come from a very low income area of San Diego and do not have a lot at home to support their learning.
Since schools are closed they are all at home and their parents are trying to support their individual and diverse needs.
They are young TK-2 students who are full of life and want to learn just like every other child.
My Project
My students in my class are TK students who are smart, bright, and fun. They have low attention spans and sitting on a computer trying to learn their IEP goals and curriculum is not for them. They need hands-on, colorful, and manipulative educational resources to be successful. These activities such as the alphabet, number, and shape puzzles will get them using their fine motor skills to manipulate the puzzle pieces and at the same time work on their academic recognition and identification. My students have the fidget toys in class and they love them; however, because of recent events, they do not have access to these calming fidget toys. Having them in the class helps them focus so I'd like to get them in their homes to help my students get their work done.
