Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I said "goodbye and see you in a few weeks" as my students left school on March 13th. Never did I imagine that a few weeks turned into a few months.
During this hard time, students and their parents are facing real struggles and the reality of “Distance Learning” as they are expected to “Home School” their children.
My students come from a low-income family and unfortunately most of their parents are also out of a job. Without a paycheck and school supplies at home, parents are experiencing tough time helping their children complete assignments.
My Project
My parents are struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic and Distance Learning, they are not sure how to keep their children away from games and television and keep them learning at home.
If this project is funded, my students will be able to use the construction papers, markers, paint and math manipulative to be creative artists, painters and mathematician.
This much needed supplies at home will allow students to draw and paint as this will relief some stress of not being in school. The math manipulative will allow them to continue to learn math in fun but meaningful ways.
