Students come from a very small public high school in an east coast metropolitan area. Students are from a wide variety of backgrounds but share a love of science. My subject is an elective so these students have a strong interest in the class and strive to do well.
We focus heavily on laboratory work, inquiry and cooperative groups.
Dissections are a large part of this class and it's encouraging to see how excited students get when it's dissection day! Many students are looking to careers in the medical field and this is the first step toward that career goal.
Please help these fund our latest laboratory.
My Project
My high school anatomy & physiology students need cats for dissection purposes. We already use some specimens from the grocery store and even use fruit! They would benefit greatly from preserved cats to study a larger specimen and investigate the organs, arteries, veins, brain, and all the body systems we cover all year long. The skinned cats will be used to study the muscular system. Some students are headed to college to study in the medical field and this is a wonderful opportunity for them to gain experience in a laboratory setting before college. Groups of student will share the specimens and every attempt will be made to reuse the specimens if possible. We thank you in advance for you willingness to help our students.
