Dissection Frogs Needed!! plus Flip Chart Materials For The Body!
My students need 30 frogs and ten Dissecting Sets, to dissect for our anatomy and physiology unit next month, and four Post-it Easel flip charts to map out the human body in a collaborative learning environment.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school has absolutely no enrichment funds for students and as a first year teacher I have absolutely no interactive material. Ours is a predominantly African American school, which caters to a range of educational levels and socioeconomic statuses.
The students at this school are absolutely incredible, excited, motivated, inspirational, and have an incredible curiosity for the human body and other biological systems; however, what these students don't have is the resources needed to push their educational experience in the classroom.
Our students come from communities where education is not a priority, but rather looked at as a hoop they must jump through. My goal is to change their perspective.
My Project
My students need 30 frogs and ten Dissecting Sets, to dissect for our anatomy and physiology unit next month, and four Post-it Easel flip charts to map out the human body in a collaborative learning environment. This unit we will be exploring the human body in great detail. In order to do so, my students have been begging me non-stop to get frogs to dissect. I'm excited about the opportunity that running a dissection lab will have for my students, because of the interest that students have shown in medical subjects and getting their hands dirty, I know that this will be an awesome opportunity that will for sure get them talking about all things biology!
I'm also excited about the opportunity that running a dissection lab will have for my students, because before this point we will be mapping out the human body systems (digestive, reproductive, skeletal, muscular, etc..) on the flip charts you will also have the opportunity to supply.
I'm extremely excited to give my students an incredible opportunity to become real scientists, and real biologists in a 21st century classroom experience.
