My Students

Curious minds want to learn! I currently have 27 students in my class. Fifteen of my students are ENL learners. I co-teach with an ENL teacher for 90 minutes a day. Our classroom is grouped according to needs for all academic areas. We work together to help each child reach their potential in a warm and comforting environment. My students love engaging in their learning! Science has always been their favorite subject, especially when they are hands-on. They are inquisitive and always looking to jump into science projects in our class. My students come to school excited to learn and take pride in their accomplishments. Many of my students speak Spanish at home and come from countries such as Honduras, El Salvador, Columbia, and Guatemala. They love coming to school each day, ready for our next adventure!

My Project

Science lab interactions on the elementary level will open the flood gates of learning! Given the necessary materials to create, problem solve, and build, will motivate students to think beyond the obvious. Students will use their knowledge about gravity to build navigation for a marble to move through a structure. They will build a car using a car designing kit! Students will even dissect owl pellets!

Science experiments help children develop life skills such as problem solving, communication, and research.

Science is an important subject area because of its relevance to the student's lives and its capacity to apply these life skills to everyday activities.
