Help me give my students dissection trays, gloves, safety glasses, dissection mats and dissecting pins so that we can make our dissection activity possible.
My students are great thinkers, hard-workers and unique individuals. They are self-motivated, interested learners, caring beings and our future leaders. Sparking their interests allows them to take learning to the next level. My students attend a Title One elementary school. With just the following requested materials, students can take their learning to a whole new level.
Science is a way of thinking.
We need dissection tools in order to take part in yearly planned dissections. A hands-on way of thinking is what it is all about. Students will use creativity, thinking skills and information literacy as they delve into numerous dissecting lessons. They will communicate and collaborate as they work on a team to dissect any given organism.
My Project
We need dissecting pins, dissecting trays, disposable gloves, safety goggles and dissection mats to make our project come to life this year. The items that we are requesting can be used year after year. This year we will be dissecting earthworms. Students are looking forward to rolling their sleeves up and learning more about these vital organisms. Earthworms are vital to soil health because they transport nutrients and minerals from below to the surface via their waste, and their tunnels aerate the ground. An earthworm can eat up to one third its body weight in a day. What an amazing lesson this is going to be. We can't wait to get started.
