My students need a bookshelf for our wonderful books that we have received. I want a bookshelf for our library to help easily display the bountiful of books that we have for our students to read.
My students are in the heart of Key West, Florida. Our school is known as a Title I school. Some of my students have been displaced since the hurricane came through in September. My class is a unique group of individual students. There are four languages spoken in the classroom and some of the students are bi-lingual or tri-lingual. This dynamic is wonderful for our school and myself as I constantly learn from each student daily.
These children constantly are eager to try and explore new opportunities that are associated with the kindergarten classroom and school.
As a school, we use different projects and invigorating ideas to help promote the curriculum in each grade level in our school. My goal is to try and help my students with different resources to promote a positive culture in the public school system and have these students develop a passion for learning and school.
My Project
We have recently received a bountiful collection of books that enhanced our classroom library. I am now looking for a more efficient way to display our books for the children to easily see and choose the book they would like to read. Right now all of our books are in bins and students have to sort through all these books to find the book they would like to read. This would help with our different themes and units weekly/monthly and students could easily find the book that is most appropriate for them.
Our classroom is full of avid readers and it is difficult for them to find books searching through all of our bins.
This would be great for all of the different learners in my class. I have constantly been searching for easier ways to promote reading in the classroom and by using this display my students will gravitate more towards reading and books.
