Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In Disney's Lion King 2, Simba sings, "As you go through life you'll see, there is so much that we don't understand, and the only thing we know is things don't always go, the way we planned.."
My students are eager third graders who want to learn everyday.
They love learning about saving the world and making a difference. They attend a school that is made up of more than seventy percent English learners, and all the students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
First, my students will document on a daily basis by using the iPad all recyclable items such paper, aluminum, glass, and plastic used at home and at school After that, the students will use the iPad to access Google documents and make a graph of recyclable items used. After analyzing their graph, students will also use various apps on the iPad to learn different ways of reusing, reducing, and recycling. On a weekly basis, we can share and brainstorm how we can make Earth a better place when we work together in reducing, reusing, and recycling. Students may post pictures and results on the class and school websites in celebration of Earth Day.
As a team, students can look at the chart to see what a difference a group can make when they are helping the earth by reducing, reusing, and recycling.
It can make a big impact when they see how much they are using everyday.
