My Students

My students are from rural communities. They are respectful and I could use more science materials for the new standards. I just want to give them new experiences.

I feel that the students need to have greater tools to understand their lives and environment.

My Project

I have always wanted to have microscopes in my classroom. This is a perfect opportunity for that to happen. Our school doesn't have any and to be able hook up the new ones to my computer would be really exciting for me and the students.

The science standard for 5th grade in Utah is to study particles.

I feel that by looking through a microscope and seeing that things are made up of smaller parts will help students see a part of their lives that they are not aware of.
