Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The elementary school that I work at is such a special place! This year is our first year being open and we have hit the ground running. Our students come to school each day ready to take on another day of learning. I am proud to say that every staff member at my school strives to provide the best place to learn for our students.

My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion!

My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.

My students are the most enthusiastic group of students I have had yet. Each and every one of them brings something unique to our classroom. Despite coming from low income backgrounds, they deserve the very best! Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society!

My Project

The funds for this project will go directly towards the ticket price to attend the Discovery Place Museum. While at the museum, our students will be able to do a couple of different things. First, they will be able to explore and interact with the current exhibit on display at the museum. Discovery Place always has wonderful, engaging exhibits that our students are sure to love. During our visit, each class (kindergarten through fourth grade) will get to attend a science class that is geared towards that grade level. The classes have already been chosen by the classroom teachers so that they will align to what is being taught in their classrooms.

Museums like Discovery Place do an excellent job of bringing learning to life.

The teachers at Villa Heights go above and beyond to provide engaging learning experiences in the classroom. However, nothing compares to being able to experience something real outside of the classroom. Thank you in advance for your donations that will make this field trip possible for our students! They deserve the world and we are trying our best to provide them that!
