This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a Title 1 Middle School that services students in grades 6-8. Our population is diverse and is made up of several underrepresented populations. Students that attend our school are respectful, inquisitive, innovative, and eager to learn.
"I strongly believe every child has to have the opportunity to learn this critical skill, we are inundated with technology and I don't want our young people to just be consumers, I want them to be producers of this technology and to understand it, to feel like they're controlling it, as opposed to it controlling them."
~President Barak Obama
My Project
The Nintendo Switch Console and Nintendo Labo Variety kits will give our Discovery Learning students an opportunity to apply, design, research, build, code, invent, and present cutting edge engineering products.
Throughout the year, our students will explore the Nintendo Switch Console and the Nintendo Labo design and coding platform to work individually and collectively to create unique Nintendo Switch games and prototypes.
Students will use the Nintendo Labo coding software program to build and control the new prototypes and robots. Students will share their research, designs, and prototype creations with their classmates as well as at our community STEAM Symposium.
