Discovering Who We Are!

Help me give my students picture books that teach social skills, new functioning scissors, and pastel chalks to create art projects.

My Students

Our school was established over 150 years ago, and many of the students are proud to say they’re going to the same school as their parents and grandparents! Several of our teachers even attended this school when they were in elementary school!

We are a Title I school where a significant portion of my students spend the best six hours of their day.

They’re good kids who come from EVERY kind of background and my job is to help them see that they have their whole future ahead of them.

We are hoping to help them become more independent, responsible, and despite the effects of COVID-19, have a greater chance for success down the road.

My Project

After several years of being affected by COVID-19 in the classroom, there are many areas of need! Many of our supplies were thrown away, sent home, or lost in the chaos of remote/in-school learning. Not only were our supplies affected, but our emotional needs were also as well.

My fourth-graders last normal school year was first-grade.

They've struggled emotionally, academically, physically, and mentally. I would love to go back to basics by supplying them with quality books, exciting art supplies, and helpful math tools that can help them become excited about school, again! We're battling enough things right now; the excitement for learning should never be part of that battle!
