Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These new books will help my students see their own selves as heroes, main characters, dynamic and exceptional beings. Middle school is tough for any student as you're navigating the social world and learning about who you are. It can be even more difficult for students who don't see characters like their own selves represented in the literature they read.

These books will build our library for independent reading and book circles to support students in not only building their reading skills, but also understanding more of who they are and who they could be.

We have built in reading time every single day and our kids love to read. I am excited to potentially offer these titles to support building my students' criticality along with their skills.
