Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a high poverty district my students are presented with varying challenges in and out of school. The students at our school are strong and resilient. I want to provide a learning environment that encourages exploration and gives students an experience in the world outside of their world.
My students are bright, inquisitive and love to explore the world around them.
We are learning to be collaborative learners and are very adaptable to change. We rise to the challenges that are presented to us everyday and believe we learn through our mistakes. Students are encouraged to be reliable and to take responsibility for their learning. The students at our school enjoy learning new topics and are open to learning in creative environments. We believe in creating a atmosphere that is conducive to learning while having fun.
My Project
Providing tablets to the students will enhance their research and reading experience. By providing the tablets the students will be able easily access the databases by using a touch screen. Students will also be able to use the tablets to scan QR codes that will lead to book trailers and fun facts around the room.
Young students love to discover the world around them and the tablets will make this easier.
Students will be able to touch icons and easily move around the library to find new books, characters and information. The tablet is mobile and perfect for students to carry around.
