My classroom is part of the Allegheny County Head Start Program in Pittsburgh. The program services children of low income families primarily. The children are from various cultural backgrounds, areas and have diverse needs.
The children come in each day ready to explore and learn.
We learn through play and spend the majority of our days in our centers in the classroom and on the playground or gym for gross motor time.
We are a school family! We learn together and from each other.
My Project
My students are very curious and will be able to explore and be scientists with these supplies. These items will allow the children to dig deeper into magnetism, force and other areas of Science. These materials will also allow the children to be creative and grow their little minds.
Also, the children will get to be builders with the Giant Lincoln Logs.
They are used to using the small Lincoln Logs and the bigger scale logs will allow them to build more real-life structures. The logs can also be used in the dramatic play area. The possibilities are endless!
