As of Monday, March 16, 2020, all students in my district were unable to attend classes, due to COVID-19. I was unable to send students home with the essential tools needed to do any learning at home.
Most of my students do not have the basic supplies they need to continue learning at home, the majority of my students live at or below the poverty level, and 7 of my 17 students are English Language Learners.
Despite these challenges, my students are eager and ready to continue learning.
My Project
Since most students in my class don't have basic school supplies at their homes, these materials will help students sustain the writing and math skills they have acquired thus far. These items will be sent to their doorsteps so they can continue their school skills at home during this time.
Since I was unable to send supplies home with my students due to COVID-19 and the closure of my classroom, I am requesting these materials to create a more equitable at-home learning experience for my eager Kindergarten learners.
