This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of 25 different individuals of sixth graders. Majority of the class feels that they are not good writers. Therefore, when it comes to writing, they are not excited. However, they love to incorporate art into their learning. Also, many of them will choose an art form to show me their representation of what they have learned.

My Project

The students are writing an informational text about an animal of their choice. The text will be in an article format.

The purpose of the diorama is to have the students be excited and be engage in their learning.

After they have finished researching about their animal, the diorama gives them a chance to apply what they have learned.

These materials will allow the students to build a more realistic habitat for their animal. Also, students can use their diorama to reference as they are presenting their informational text (article) to the class. This will tremendously help the audiences (other students) to gain a better insight of the animal's habitat.
