My students need smooth transitions from one activity to another, as well as tools to help them calm down when upset. They need a wireless doorbell, fidgets, and books.
My students are hard working and ready to learn. They are full of energy and a blast to teach. They are constantly learning new information, growing as individuals, and teaching me life-lessons in the process. I learn just as much from their energetic spirit and desire to learn as they learn from me. They work hard on their academics, but also dedicate time to learning how to be good classroom citizens and kind to one another. We are a community of love & learning.
My Project
Ding - Dong! is a project that focuses on a calm, soothing atmosphere that allows students to be at their best for learning. The wireless doorbell chime allows for students to be notified of transition without being overly disruptive. It removes the nag of the "teacher voice" and puts the focus on what activity is next.
This year I am creating a Calming Corner for when students need a break.
This is a personal, enclosed space with pillows and tools to help calm down - the fidget kit.
I emphasize a respectful, loving classroom and enjoy reading books that support a strong growth mindset.
