My students need an iPad to use with Lego Boost. We tried a Chromebook but the Bluetooth interfered with the other devices.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend one of the first Los Angeles public schools built as a span (grades kindergarten through eighth).
Teachers came together to create a plan where students can obtain a college-bound education.
All of my students are Latinos who qualify for Title I funding (98% of the school qualifies for free and reduced lunch). Two-thirds of my class is performing below grade level in reading and mathematics. The parents are very involved and have high interest in having their children succeed. The students are very dedicated and hard working due to the culture of the school and their parents' involvement. Most of the students cannot afford the latest technology (i.e. computers, Internet access, and printers) which is a Common Core State Standard (CCSS).
My Project
Many of my students do not have access to a computer or even the internet. They read, write, and solve difficult mathematics problems daily, but they lack tangible science projects. Many of the robotics equipment is very expensive and out of their reach.
iPad would not only help with robotics but with coding.
Students would enter the modern day of technology and discover the love for learning in different modalities. Many of my students are starved for science and some students really only come to school for science projects.
Team building is one of the most powerful ways to learn and solve problems. They will work in teams to build and create different codes for their robots. Yes, they will probably run into many hurdles but having the satisfaction of getting their robot to move, will be priceless!
