My students need an iPad, case, and screen protector to carry out this project.

Our student population grows more diverse by the day. Income levels, ethnicity, family structures, first languages, interests, and abilities now vary so much that a traditional teaching approach, with a uniform lesson targeted to the average-level student, just doesn't cut it.
We are a Title I school, all of our student receive free breakfast and lunch daily do to family income levels.
Most of our students do not have the opportunity to participate in lessons using technology. I am hoping to offer my students opportunities to learn hands-on integrating education and technology.
My project addresses the process of building a curriculum that addresses and support students’ needs in the use of technology in innovative ways to promote the themes of social justice goals through the use of digital storytelling. These resources will impact the student’s education by: balancing traditional teaching methods and new technology approaches; enhancing language literacy, visual literacy, media literacy: and meeting higher educational technology standards through opportunities to become digital storytellers. The students will use the ipad, case, and screen protector while they create their story boards. We will then use the projector to project their storyboards onto our white board. My project idea was developed with students needs in mind. My plan is to use digital storytelling to teach about Science and Math. The students will learn all the stops of creating a digital story by engaging in each step. They will write a story, create a storyboard, research and gather all pieces of their story, build their story, record their voices and put it all together to present it. The digital storytelling process will help transform isolated facts into enduring understandings. By living the story students will make the information come emotionally alive. This project can be replicated easily in any classroom or adapted for multiple grade levels and subjects.
