My second-grade classroom is transforming from a traditional classroom of instruction to a technology-infused classroom of collaboration and exploration.
At my school, students have a passion for learning but face unique challenges with the support of engaged families.
All of our school's students are eager to learn and have great potential. That is not to say that our school is without its challenges; our students deserve to learn skills that they can apply in their technology-rich futures and careers. I feel that providing opportunities for students to work with age-appropriate technology helps our students become better learners and gives them the foundations for a tech-infused future.
My students are LEGO learners. This form of digital storytelling would be the right amount of hands-on interaction and tech integration for my young students.
We are asking for a tablet stand to help capture our students' different LEGO scenes onto our digital platform.
The stand will help my young students take steady photos of their creations.
We are also asking for LEGO Community kits, LEGO community Minifigure set, and the LEGO baseboards, a LEGO Creativity kit, and a LEGO Vehicle set for our class writing center to encourage them to become creative storytellers of various genres and learn skills such as cooperating, communicating and collaborating. The LEGO sets will also allow students to explore community goals through an active learning environment.
Every student learns best when they have the courage and support to explore, to try new things, and to follow their curiosity. LEGO Education, along with our integration of technology, provides solutions to help inspire their natural curiosity, help reinforce standards that are taught in the classroom, and help build life skills through working with other students.
