My students are a diverse group of amazing kids who have goals and aspirations just like most children. However, many struggle with the barriers of poverty, language acquisition, special needs and parents working very long hours. Some of our children have emotional needs and are living in homeless shelter motels that have recently opened in our area.
My high-poverty students strive to succeed, but are limited by the lack of resources available in our small public school environment.
We're trying hard to change that dynamic! Many of my students dream of becoming science and technology leaders. We have some serious-minded, talented students I am certain will master challenges that I would have trouble hurdling.
My students are a constant amazement. I endeavor to support their dreams to the best of my abilities. My kids are the hardest working group of individuals I've been given the joy of educating!
My Project
Digital storytelling is an amazing medium for delivering a message. But not if your video is going to be so long that your audience has long ago given up on watching your full presentation.
My students want to use these digital video editing tools to be able to format their stories into concise configurations of the messages they wish to deliver.
Working hard on a project that you are passionate about is only half of the endeavor. Students have to use a storyboard to format the exact images, along with their desired sequence, for production purposes. Lastly, their filmed footage and content must be edited and compiled so that their message is epigrammatic. This activity will be facilitated through the use of these digital video editing software programs and cables. Their stories are going to be brilliant and epic!
