My students need a Zoom Q8 Video Recorder and tripod to bring Social Emotional Skills to life through creating our own plays that teach us how to be star students.

I teach in a Title I School, in North Carolina, and many of my students are at-risk of academic failure. This is many of my students' first time in a school setting. The early learners in my class are more interested in the process of discovering and manipulating materials than the final products of their experiments.
Learning experiences are meaningful and relevant for every child and reflect his or her developmental, cultural, and individual circumstances.
My students love to move and be active. However, because of recent budget cuts, we are unable to purchase additional resources such as the ones requested.
My Pre-kindergarten students love to create their own performances about our social emotional learning skills. Each week we learn a new skill through the Second Step program to help us grow into healthy citizens. Throughout the week we practice what our skills mean in real-life and talk about how we can use these skills to be good friends and spread kindness.
On Fridays, our Pre-k children transform into actors and actresses, performing skits which highlight our social emotional skill of the week.
They love to develop a story, pick students to perform and make our ideas come to life.
So many times we have wished we could capture these stories to show other students in our school and even look back on when we need a reminder. The requested Zoom Q8 is an easy-to-use video recorder that has high quality sound and pictures. The tripod will make it easy to use. This will let us be really creative and go outside to show what it is like to be a good friend on our playground or how to help someone in the lunch line.
We can be mobile and creative with this equipment and develop a library of Social Emotional Stories which we can use in our room, at our grade level and throughout the whole school. Students will be empowered through making and creating videos of good choices. How exciting.
