My Students

We are in our second year of welcoming elementary students as we were formally a fifth through eighth-grade school. We are so excited to have younger grades and families to our campus and classrooms as the community around is rapidly growing.

I currently have 26 amazing second graders who inspire me to find ways to keep them engaged and enthusiastic about learning.

It is my goal to find unique ways to help foster their creativity and have them love coming to school. Students love to work collaboratively as well as independently, and this project will help support both!

My Project

Students love to bring stories to life, and digital storyboarding is perfect for early learners! After students write their stories in Workshop, they can showcase their finished product using a Green Screen, iPad, and clip-on microphones. Students must have a script, characters, setting, and plot approved prior to producing their work.

Students love to see their finished work on the Smartboard or TV and take pride in sharing their creativity with their peers and loved ones, which in turn inspires a passion for writing.

By implementing digital storyboarding during Writer's Workshop my students will begin to see themselves as true authors. We will use these devices as aids in helping us become life-long creative writers. Thank you!
