My students are eager, bright, and like all students, excited to experience all the current learning that this 21st century can bring them. They love art each week, walking in with huge smiles and open hearts. "The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create." –President Barack Obama
Inquisitive, creative, artistic and ready to explore art across the curriculum, yes, this describes my student population!
I teach over 420 students, per week, Art Education. As an educator, I am always on a quest to teach my students skills that will help them both in school and in life beyond. We love discovering innovative ways to connect Art to other subjects and to create a safe and caring environment in our classroom for all students.
My Project
In the art room my students love to explore and incorporate various forms of technology to tell their visual story. I am so excited to create this new digital story unit with photography as the medium.
My 6th grade students will take photos within the school and using either iMovie or WeVideo, they will edit, add audio and text overlay and create short films, that will express who they are, their likes and dislikes and personal insights through the art of digital story telling.
I can't wait to see the short digital films that my students create. And to learn more about them as a member of our school community.
