Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are talented and very motivated by music and performance. They excel when given the opportunity to highlight their talents. I would like to support my school's attendance goals by increasing our students' motivation to come to school every day. I would like to give them something to look forward to and feel excited about.

Some of our students have behavior challenges and difficulty adjusting in social situations.

I would like to support their SEL growth by offering opportunities for them to perform together, teach one another, and grow together.

My Project

These electronic items will help engage my students in the music room by providing them with screens to focus on within my SEL-centered music classroom.

The tablets will help to engage students who are having a difficult time adjusting to the large class and give them an opportunity to work on smaller music projects in their own space within the music room.

The screen will give my room a focal point on which I can project our team-building activities and help build community within each homeroom. This will help center my space and provide an engaging arena from where my students can shine!
