My students need a microscope in the classroom.

We have started work on a garden and my students are very interested in what is living in the soil. We also plan to get an aquarium which will give us more opportunities to explore microscopic critters in our science lessons.
We are a class of 15 Special Needs students at a Middle School in Washington, DC.
We are in a high need area and our school has extremely limited resources. These students learn better when they are able to see and touch the lessons rather than just reading and listening since they have comprehension and auditory processing disabilities.
Being able to see the world around us in a whole new way inspires the curiosity in all of us. With this microscope, we will be able to take pictures of what we see and learn and update our science blog with our findings. My students are excited to take a closer look at nature. We have an active gardening project and are interested in taking an up close look at the soil and plants that we are growing and caring for in our student garden. This equipment is perfect because some students have visual impairments so this way we can take pictures and enlarge them on the LCD projector. Having this microscope will give these students insight and understanding into the building blocks of soil and plant growth.
Thank you so much for your interest.
Having one digital microscope is less expensive than a lab of personal microscopes. Plus we will be able to share our findings with the world!
