Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I provide educational based therapy to 70 children in a public elementary school. In my classroom, my students struggle with social skills, comprehension and expression. However, they are hard workers and they come to my classroom ready to learn and play. Each milestone, no matter how small, is a great achievement. Sometimes it takes days to learn new concepts and sometimes months or years, but my students do not give up. I love that my students have a positive view of learning even though they face so many challenges.

My Project

These materials will help make a difference in my students' learning because they will allow me to have materials to continue to expand their speech and language development. Digital materials from teachers pay teachers can be used for learning from home and homework sheets can be sent home to reinforce the lesson. A teachers pay teacher gift card gives me the versality and flexibility to be creative with my learning materials at a cheaper cost than purchasing at a store. In addition, these materials can be laminated to increase durability with my preschool students.
