Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students were attending a school where they had teachers who really cared about them. I wanted to give them every tool they needed to become better readers. But know as times have changed and we have had to change to way we deliver our instruction one thing that hasn't changed is our students.

I love their drive to learn, all of my students struggle in reading but they want to be better, do better and strive to learn to read.

My Project

We need immediate help! My students are struggling. During this time of the COVID-19 virus we have had to close the doors of our school however that doesn't mean the education of our students stops.

There are so many students in our district that do not have computers, or tablets in order to access the materials needed to continue their education.

Even if a student is fortunate enough to have something that works they most often have to share one device with their siblings. Many times the older student is given the device. However, I work with students who are already the lowest readers in our school, everyday they don't have access is a step in the wrong direction.
