As a teacher in a Title I school, the students I serve come to school on a daily basis, carrying much stress from home with them. Stress for many of these students includes: speaking a language other than English as their main language, not having enough food to eat, being afraid of situations going on in their neighborhood, or mental illness suffered by either them or their family members.
Despite all the issues these students come to school with, they come each day and try their best to succeed and grow, all with a smile and a positive attitude.
These students are active, vocal, engaged, and determined to achieve and do their best.
My students want to be teachers, doctors, scientists, and more when they grow up. They don't let anything hold them back in their dreams and persevere against all odds.
My Project
Students today live in a very technologically gifted world. This can be of great benefit to them in the classroom. There are many programs out there designed to be at the students level, allowing each student to get an individualized learning experience.
These computers will be used to help my students grow and learn.
They will use these computers for curriculum programs that tailor to their needs. We have been using these programs already, but with more computers, even more of my kids will be able to use them at a time. The headphones are so that they can get the instruction they need without it being a distraction to all the other learners around them.
