Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to have them appreciate themselves and each other. My students have been dismissed by others as not being able to learn, and it's crucial to let them know that they are capable of learning and succeeding.

Every week, I see all over four hundred students in the school for art.

We work hard to create, and we need some extra support this year.

My Project

Our students are learning from home for the next two and a half months, and not all of them have the internet capacity to learn live with us.

I'm asking for a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to help my students get some asynchronous resources to practice and learn art on their own.

Having more materials to work from at home on their own time is going to be very beneficial for my students.

We work hard to make our expressive arts class accessible to all students, including those who cannot be online at specified times.
