In this innovative time for teachers, I am trying to create the best digital learning experience for my students. With over 130 students from varying backgrounds in a rural community, I am finding it increasingly difficult to answer the hundreds of emails. All students already have digital access. They are responsible and anxious to follow instructions. I am amazed at my students' resilience. I have tested google meet and it seems to be the best vehicle where students can receive direct instruction. My situation arises when I have to demonstrate a math problem. In the classroom, I could go to my SmartBoard and/or whiteboard. Unfortunately, and I have tried it, the whiteboard does not work well with Google Meet.
An Ipevo Document Camera would be the solution to my problem.
Students can witness my solutions live and then turn and work on their work and hand it in immediately through the classroom to assure success. The Middle School Math and Pre-Algebra classes are working bravely to get through these times.

My Project
Throughout the past week, I have been so proud of my 150 students. All but 2 students have turned in their assignments. The situation I am experiencing is giving adequate examples/algorithms when students are struggling. I have tried a whiteboard combined with Google Meet. Glare and inadequate writing space hinder my ability to show the proper work to ensure understanding.
I have emailed several of my colleagues and the Ipevo Document Camera seems to be the answer.
Unfortunately, as Math Department Chair we exhausted our budget two weeks ago when 2019-20 budget was due. Therefore, I turn to you. The doc camera would allow me to work out solutions live in Google Meet and allow students in real-time to ask questions. In this total upheaval of education, I re-inventing myself as a teacher every day. This camera would make my instruction clear, concise and all-encompassing for my students.
