My students need 2 Apple iPads to increase their use of technology on a daily basis. They will use iPads to build essential skills, to problem solve and to create presentations.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Homework is so much fun!" Have you ever heard these words come from a child's mouth? Homework on iPads will have students in my class shouting, "I love homework!" from their rooftops!
Students in my first grade class live in a community with very limited access to computers and technology.
Most students do not have daily access to a computer and haven't spent very much time on one. Parents can't afford Internet service in their home and more than 40% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Even though our two classroom computers are more than seven years old, the students are extremely eager to learn with them. We currently have one iPad for the students to use and they light up with motivation to learn on it. They take turns and work in teams to create projects and complete activities.
My Project
This year I am creating digital homework where students will practice skills and complete activities using technology. The iPads will be available to students to use not only throughout the school day, but before and after school as well. This will give students without computer access at home opportunity to complete the digital homework. Students will learn how to use educational apps, create projects, and practice skills in reading and math at their individual level.
I always try to foster a love for learning in my students and more iPads will instantly excite them.
It is truly amazing how quickly students grasp concepts when they are tuned in and engaged in learning. They will start their educational career knowing homework and learning is fun, not a chore, and they will grow to seek knowledge throughout their lives. Please consider funding my project!
