My students are a diverse group of curious, hard-working thinkers and emerging engineers. We are a project-based school that values the contributions of all disciplines and strives to teach children how to create beautiful work.
Young engineers at HTe are learning creative critical thinking skills by putting geometry, STEM, and socio-emotional skills to practice in hands-on, student-led projects.
Our school is a publicly funded charter embracing a philosophy of learning through community-based projects, which are conducted as collaborations between different subject areas. Our students are admitted through a lottery to create a population representing our diverse county.
Please help us get some new digital fabrication tools to continue to build our engineering expertise!
My Project
Students in engineering often use tools. An increasing number of tools are digital fabrication tools in which students input designs onto computers and then a machine cuts, prints, or builds the design. These tools will support students in learning important digital fabrication skills. They will support the 222 students that use the engineering classroom throughout the year.
My students need a Cricut, vinyl paper, and supplies to use for bulletin boards, posters, anchor charts, art projects, and STEM challenges.
Students in engineering will use these tools to create a variety of products ranging from pop-up cards to 3D geometric shapes.
