Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hardworking English Learners who come to high school in either the day or evening program and then go to work to support their families, as well as their classes. The mission of the school is to empower all students. Most of the students fall in the poverty level but rise up with the school’s support. A small school, alternative and accredited, but with a big heart and strong community. The school is dedicated to competency based standards, so that students are successful in the real world, once they graduate.
My Project
These students have been deeply affected by the pandemic. They are adult English Language Learners working any shift available and attending classes during the day or evening to graduate from our high school.
This digital notebook will encourage them to submit their homework or classwork directly to their teachers, bypassing a limited computer network and equipment at home.
They often share 1 computer with multiple family members, and struggle to connect to multiple platforms required. This notebook is user and language friendly. It could boost their ability to pass classes.
