I am a second-grade teacher in a high poverty elementary school in southern Delaware. I have both regular education and special education students in my classroom. I also have a high population of ESL students who are either new to the country, still learning English or lacking language and vocabulary. I love teaching second grade! Second graders are enthusiastic about learning and becoming independent individuals. My students are so passionate about learning and work so hard to overcome their daily challenges from home and school. I am always looking for ways to continue to challenge my students and better prepare them for third grade.
My Project
Our second grade class is learning about the elements of a story and working hard to create their own stories. How awesome would it be if their stories could be digital? With a Chromebooks, students will be able to work collaboratively with their partner to bring their stories to life through digital storytelling. My Story is a fun website that allows students to create their story by adding images and an audio recording of their story. Students will collaborate with their partner to bring their unique story to life. Stadium seats will provide fun seating for partners while working on their stories. Please help me make digital storytelling possible for my second grade friends.
